I bought a 3155 unit in February but didn't hook it up until maybe march sometime. worked flawlessly for a few weeks. I unplugged it overnight because I ran low on water and didn't want it trying to run dry, after getting water and plugging it back in, it ran for about 10-15 seconds and stopped. now the unit wont turn on. I don't get the beep when I unplug it and plug it back in. as well as no lights on the unit. I there anything to try before I attempt to return the product through amazon?

My best guess is a dead or wrong power supply. By wrong power supply I mean that since so many aquarium equipment power supplies have almost the same end (our pumps, Vortech pumps, Apex), it is possible to inadvertently swap them and while they look the same the voltage or amperage is different so it won't run. Otherwise it is likely a dead power supply and you could test that fairly simply. The easiest would be a voltmeter, short of that, if you touch the wires of the pump directly to the output tip of the power supply and it doesn't run, it is likely a bad power supply, one wire to the hole in the middle, one to the outer shell. You could be 100% sure if you also tested the pump with a 9V battery to confirm the pump is good first, touch one wire to each terminal on the battery. If that is the issue we can send the part needed.
