Osmolator 3155 - malfunction

We less that a year and I think the liquid sensor is shot. The sensor is perfectly clean, but it can't read that the water level is low. Water level fell 4" below my water setting. :mad2:Regardless of what I do with the sensor it shows a green light.

Anyone know how to or where to send back to Tunze for service/warranty work?

The sensor is definitely the issue and this is a fairly simple repair, I can knock it out within a day of getting it. Include a note with return address and phone number and send it to the address below. Basically either the sensor has a short, or it is hazed by calcium/salt crust. I know you mention it is clean but the mineral haze will generally only be visible when it is dry so it is worth doing a vinegar soak for a couple hours if you haven't already.

I'm having the opposite occurrence, the sensor is showing low water level. The pump went bad and I replaced it, durring the shipping wait time I disconnect the plug from the CP box and placed it in a "safe" spot but it came loose and was hit with salt spray for 4-5 days, when I noticed the plug, it had corrosion all over the metal connection area. Would this have caused a short through the system?

It can, the high resistance can cause various safeties to shut off the pump or the entire controller. I would send it in as we may be able to repair it.

Can you please tell me the part number for the liquid sensor as mine is shot too (after just 4 months) and I need to order a new one, I ordered online from the opposite side of the country so warranty not an option, but my local dealer needs a pt number.

Many thanks,

Mark.

Hi Mark, you should have your local dealer contact the distributor in Australia. I believe that is Aquadepot Imports. As far as I know the optic sensor doesn't have a part number (because it's not an end-user replacement part) but it will be easy enough for them to know which part you mean. But it is possible they'll want you to send the unit back so they can replace it for you.
