Well, the unit is about 6 weeks old. Worked great and was more then I could ever wish for. Its sensors were mounted in sump and the controller was outside the tank stand.
One day I decided to relocate the sump and so I had to move the Osmolator as well. Sensors are mounted on a removable plastic plate inside the sump, so moving things around was a breeze. When I reassembled everything back and plugged in the controller, the "too low" LED would constantly blink and the "too high" LED would stay lit. All other LEDs would stay off. The alarm sound would also be on.
I got scared that I somehow damaged the unit (almost $200 after all...). I took the sensor plate out, put it back in, plugged the controller again and it started working just fine. I figured the controller got confuzed after relocation and needed a good reset.
Last night I relocated the sump to its final place in my basement. And sure enough, after plugging the osmolator, again, it showed same behavior as far as LEDs and sound. But this time, no matter what i do to the sensor plate, it wont start working.
I read the troubleshooting section of the manual, it says that if both LEDs are on, it means the controller is damaged by water, needs a replacement and it wont be covered by warranty. Well... I dont quite have both LEDs on, one of them is blinking, and the unit itself never got into contact with water, not even a drop.
I was wondering what this LED configuration really means and if there is a way to fix it.
I own many tunze products, this osmolator was my latest addition as I trust the brand. I sure hope there is a logical explanation as to what is happening to the unit.
