Osmolator 3155 - Wont turn off pump

Hi.

I have a problem with my Osmolator.

The black sensor is set to point down as the manual says, and the floater is set a little higher, also as it should.

When the waterlevel goes to low, the Green light stops, and the Orange "Pump on" light turns on, and it begins to fill up water.

But then when the level is reached, the Green "Level" light is turning on again, but the Orange "Pump on" keeps being on, and the pump fills water for about 20-30 seconds, before it stops, and it results in the "Beep" noise from the "To high" level sensor.

I've tried cleaning the Optic sensor, but no change. It keeps filling water up for atleast 20sec after the green light turns back on. What can i do?

I'm running it with a Tunze Reefpack 200, in a 30L / 5.5g tank, and the 20sec delay on the stop for the pump, result in a summirsed overflow filter, and too high waterlevel for the skimmer to function optimally.

When the waterlevel then goes back to normal the skimmer starts to skim a little, and the overflow works again, but as the waterlevel in the overflow box then falls a little more, the Osmolator starts to fill up again, and we start all over.

It's actually useless, my system run's totally bad with this kit mounted :(

The solution to this problem is to restrict the flow of the output of the osmolator, You only need to add a small valve and close it so that in 20 seconds it cannot add so much water. The system is so small that the 20 second normal overfill delay is too long.

This valve is ideal and most hardware stores should have it, just put it on the end of the hose at the aquarium-

Cool, thanks for the answer.

I've added a valve, and restricted the flow kind of alot, and the pump now runs about 2 times / hour. Will this damage the pump in the long run?

No, 2 times per hour is no problem. The pump isn't easily damaged, it should last about 2 years.
