Osmolator 3155

Hi,

I recently purchased the 3155 osmolator and it seems to work a bit strange.

During initial setup everything worked fine the pump stops when the water level reaches the optical sensor. Just to be safe I simulated a powerfailure to make sure everything worked.
So I hit the switch that shuts down all power to the tank, wait a few seconds and switch it back on again. Now the fun starts......the osmolator looks dead, none of the leds light up. I unplugged the power adapter to the osmolator and plugged it in again, now the pump goes beserk and just starts pumping even though the optical sensor is well below the water surface, the "Too high level" sensor didn't stop it either, I had to remove the power.

Scratching my head I let the device rest for a day before trying again....

Now it works better but it still does not stop when it reaches the optical sensor, the green "level" light goes on instantly when the water surface reaches the sensor but the pump continues to pump for about 10 sec before stopping, it stops by itself before the "Too high" sensor is reached.

The "Too high" sensor seems to work and stops the pump instantly if activated with an alarm sounding (can this be disabled without soldering).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Ok, I missed the sticky about the osmolator. Sorry it seems to cover most of my problems apart from the one when the pump goes beserk with all leds off after a power fail.

When initially plugged in or power is restored it will pump for a few seconds each time. How long will it run when this happens?

What country are you in?

Regarding the alarm, there is a jumper on the circuit board that allows you to turn off the alarm.

My best guess as to the other issue would be the transformer short covered by the linked picture in the troubleshooting thread.
