Osmolator and magnets

I have my osmolator sensors in a comline filter (3166) and have been using the traditional brackets for holding it in place. I would like more flexibility to vary the water line so I tried a magnetic holder today. When I powered up the osmolator, the alarm went off signaling a high water level, although it was not. When I lifter the float sensor, the alarm stopped, as though the polarity of the switch had been reversed by the presence of the magnet. I immediatly removed the magnet and replaced the normal....but difficult to use, brackets.

My question is this....is there any way to have the float sensor that close to a magnetic holder....or must I use the brackets?

It is possible to modify your filter so you can use the magnet holders. We have to glue a couple nipples at the bottom of the filter so the magnet holder would mount at the bottom. I can do it here or I can send you the nipples and glue.

Roger,

Similar question... I'm trying to find a way to attach my Osmolator in the back compartment of my all in one 34gallon Solana aquarium. I do not have mounting hardware just the straight brackets to hold the sensors on... how would you recommend going about attaching a magent to each high and low sensor bracket? As far away from optical and float sensors as possible or anywhere?

The optic snesor is not affected by magnets, but the float is a magnet switch and cannot be near a magnet without some shielding. It is best to keep it 5-6" from a magnet holder.
