Osmolator doesn't run - then alarm goes off

Hi Roger/everyone,

I've had my osmolator for a very, very long time. We switched to the big blue PTC in 2011, and the pump was last replaced in April 2013 (sorry I never replied, but that was the fix!). Everything has worked flawlessly all the years since then, until just this month.

Right now, when I plug in the power cable, the pump no longer runs, and the lights do not turn on. Then, after a while (less than an hour), the alarm goes off, and I think one or more lights turn on (can't remember which).

I moved away to a new school a couple years ago, and my family changes topoff jugs for me. I suspect the pump has been run dry a few times over the last 2+ years, but the osmolator has held up like a champ all this time.

This osmolator is soooo old (10+ years!) that I probably should just buy a new one. But if this a common problem/easy fix, I may as well try and keep it going! Opinions/suggestions?

Thanks!

If it is too high solid red and too low flashing red, it likely is water damage, another possibility is a bad pump can cause a transistor to burn out on older units, the board design since 2012 is I won't say immune to this happening but it is very unlikely since it has a more sophisticated system to cut power feed to a bad pump. I think it is unlikely to be repairable unless it is very minor water damage around the power connection area.

Well, it was a good run. I ordered a new one. Thanks!
