My Osmolator has been working fine until last night. Now after the pump stops I can see water drops continue to drop into the sump and the only way I can stop it is to remove the pump from the water completely. I have turned off the unit for the time being. Thoughts? Thanks.
The output of the hose needs to be higher than the water level in the container it is pulling from. the manual recommends you fill the display tank instead of the sump for this reason. Another trick if you dont waana do this is place the hose so the output spills into a piece of pvc or ridgid tube like a gutter down to the sump if simply raising it is not an option
My water levels haven't changed so I wonder why it stopped working. There was an additional black round piece with a spring inline with the black tubing, I removed it to troubleshoot but haven't seen that piece anywhere in the documentation. Do I need it? Since when I removed it I broke the cap and the spring fell out.
That sounds like a check valve and why it was likely working up till now. I was unaware they were coming with these now or did and the downside is that overtime they will fail as I think yours did. I would raise the hose instead to solve the problem permanantly
Do you have the 5074 Calcium Dispenser? The check valve comes with the calcium dispenser and is only to prevent kalkwasser from backsiphoning into the reservoir. If the osmolator is siphoning it is because your sump is lower than than the water level in the reservoir and you must run the hose up to the tank to avoid a siphon.
