osmolator problem

My osmolator controller started screaming today. It's been set up for about a week. The "too high" light is lit up, and the "too low" light blinks. It also seems to be making some sort of clicking sound. The water level in the sump is between the two sensors. Any idea what I should do?

Possible causes are.

It pumped for 10 minutes and stopped (normal time out) sounded the alarm. In this case the sensor is likely collecting microbubbles.

It got wet.

It is near a magnetic field (ballast, pump, magnet cleaner or holder).

It is not near a magnetic field.

It very possibly could have timed out, I checked the sensors and plugged it back in and its still screaming.

The controller is hanging on the aquarium stand, which all else was dry, so while there is a slim chance it was wet, I don't think thats it. Any ideas?

I would disconnect it and try it in another room. Try using a bowl of water to test the optic sensor and holding the float down. You can open the controller to check if it got wet. If it works in the other room something on that circuit or near the controller is emitting an EMF field.

If it still is screaming after a reset it isn't the time out.
