Osmolator problems?

Hey Roger,

I'm having problems with the osmolator unit. The adapter is 220V/50Hz like the rest of the equipment I ordered. I placed the unit in the return section of the sump on one of the mounting rods provided. Water keeps on flowing from the osmolator unit even after the sensor unit is completely submerged. Only when the water hits the flaot switch does the alarm come on and the water stops.

I have checked for bubbles on the sensor but there are none. I have the calcium reactor placed in the same section as well as the master recircultation pump, could that pose a problem??????

One thing i have noticed so far with the osmolator, pH probe, and skimmer is that they are tooooo sensitive.

Thanks,

Try rinsing the sensor with hot water and drying it with a soft towel. New sensors tend to repel water and not woork very well as a result.

I am not clear on this part. "I have the calcium reactor placed in the same section as well as the master recircultation pump, could that pose a problem??????"

Is this a seperate issue or related to the osmolator issue in some way?

same issue, the osmolator is placed in the return section of the sump where the reactor and pump are as well. In another post there was a concern because of interference from a pump or something, that is why I was asking.

Ill try to wash the sensor after work.

Thanks again roger.

Ah,OK. Well. Basically any magnetic field can interfere with the float switch. For example yesterday I was testing an osmolator that was sent in and the alarm kept going off. Having just moved all the cords are still bundled and I was being lazy and just plugged the unit in right next to the transformer without unwinding the cable. The proximity to the transformer was what sounded the alarm. After unwinding it, problem solved. The optic sensor is not bothered by magnetic fields, so turbulence and bubbles would be the problems in that regard.
