Osmolator recurring problem

Problem is with the top floating sensor on the osmolator setup. It has started beeping as if the water level is too high even though the water is on the photo sensor level. First time it happenned it sort of started working again after a couple of days. This time I got really curious and had a close look at a sensor. I have noticed that there is a lot of black sticky goo where the white nut screws up and the grey wire goes into a sensor tubu=ing. I pulled the wire slightly and it got pulled out from the white thingy all covered in that black goo. The unit is not working. What is the fix? Can I use the osmolator without the top sensor?

I do not know of any white colored nut on the osmolator. Their is an adhesive used to restrain the wire in the restraint bushing. I am sorry but I do not have a fix for this, my experience has been that this usually results from salt water damage to the board.

White nut is what holds the sensor to the actual fixture. My problem is not caused by the water damage to the board as the control unit is housed outside the cabinet in a very dry and protected environment together with tunze streams controls. The restraint adhesive is what I called goo and is it really supposed to be melting and allow the wire sensor to come out of the bushing?

Are you referring to near the sensor or near the box. I was talking about where the cable meets the box, that adhesive is always a bit tacky and doesn't fully harden. If it was at the sensors, that is PU resin and if it is soft that means insufficient hardener was added and this is likely the cause of your problem. However, in all fairness the float sensor is the same float sensor everyone else uses and while we will definitely get it taken care of that is not a part we make.

The problem is where the sensor meets the wire. Aquadepot, Tunze dealer here in Australia, have picked up my thread here, emailed me the same day and I am sending them the unit for inspection and replacement today. Excellent service. Thanks guys.
