Osmolator replacement pump

My osmolator pump will pump for a little bit (about 30 sec.) then stop. It's worked flawlessly for about 1.5 years. It is not clogged, is there anything else to check before I start hunting for a new one?

szwab,

These are a low cost sealed pump and not repairable, it has run its life, time for a replacement.

thanks for the quick reply.
that is what i figured. It has worked flawlessly for years. Replacement at some point was expected.

Also check the connector and the wiring. If the wiring/connector got wet they can oxidize and this will cause the osmolator to shut down. If the pump draws more power than it should whether due to bad wiring or a faulty pump it does exactly what you described.

19.98 at Premium Aquatics should be here tomorrow :)

I tried your advice Roger there was a bit of corrosion. I cleaned everything up. Same results. I also noticed that the pump is not pumping as strong as it used to.

thanks for the help!
