Osmolator Stopped Working

My Osmolator has stopped working. The controller displays that the water is level even when the water level in the sump is not. I've tried cleaning the sensor and the float with a vinager bath but to no avail.

The controller displays that the water is level even if I remove the float and sensor from the sump. Any ideas as to what wrong?

It sounds like the optic sensor has failed. How old is it, that would give me some more info on possibilities? If it is just the optic sensor, that is a fairly fast and easy repair, you would just send it in and we will replace it.

It has to be the optic sensor, send it in and we will get it repaired. Please send it quickly if this is urgent. I will be on vacation next week and anything that arrives next week will sit until I get back.

I'm experiencing the same exact problem. I bought mine about 7 years ago, used, so I'm guessing the optical sensor on mine has failed as well. I panic ordered and have installed a replacement already, (couldn't sleep at night doing level control with float switches), however I would like to get the original repaired for a backup. What is required to send the unit in for repair? Is purchasing the sensor and cable an option for self repair?

7 years old is a much different scenario, the board design is very different from one made 2-3 years ago so it is unlikely to be the same culprit. I can safely assume a 2-3 old unit has a faulty optic sensor because we just started using a new redesign in late 2010 and some had issues. A 7 year old unit is more likely to have an issue with a board component and may not be repairable. I am happy to have a look at it, but it is not likely as simple. Send it in with the pump and power supply, include a return address and phone number. I am on vacation next week and I do all repairs personally so it won't get done until I return on the 22nd and I do expect a few days backlog.

Roger, I received the repaired units today. Installed the newer unit (replaced controller) and now with the water level, the controller will only display...level too low, or level too high with the alarm sounding and the pump continues to pump water. Any thoughts?

Hi, could I get your name so I could look up the repair, PM is fine if you prefer.
