Osmolator Stopped...

My Osmolator worked brilliantly for about two months, now it just gives a constant beep, with the High level light on an won't pump reguardless of water level. I have rotated the High limit float, but no change...
Any advice?

The two usual causes of this are the controller getting wet or magnetic interference. Open it and check for water damage, if it looks fine try it in the kitchen away from all your pumps and ballasts, use a bowl of water for the optic sensor and just operate the float in your hands. If it works in this test you know that something near the float or controller is emitting magnetic interference and will have to be moved.

I had opened the unit & it was dry...will try the unit outside the stand, but I haven't changed anything in the stand in a while. You mention both the float & controller, mag. int. could affect both / either?

Yes, the float works on magnets, a magnet is in the float and it switches a magnetic switch in the post. A magnet near the float will cause it not to work. The controller contains relays which are also affected by magnets. Even if you have changed nothing an old pump or ballast especially some of the cheaper electronic ballasts will do this.

Thanks for the info...
I just started the tank 11/06, so all equipment is fairly new.
All my Ballasts are up in the canopy, so the tank and stand height puts them about 5' or so away. There are 3 pumps in the stand, they're about 2.5' away. I do have the circular transformers for my 4 Tunze 6001's in the stand about 18" from the controller...
I took the controller & float out & tried it, still constant beep with low level light flashing & high level light on, and no pump.

Hmm, can you send it to me, you are very close so the turnaround would be quite quick.
