Osmolator Universal Metering Pump Question

What size is the output of the metering pump where the flexible hose is attached? Can the hose be removed easily?

My freshwater container is about 20' away from my tank and I'd like to run PVC pipe from the metering pump to the sump instead of the flexable hose if possible.

Also am I reading these rates on the web site correctly:

- 52 liters/hour at 0.9m head
- 47 liters/hour at 1.5m head
- 27 liters/hour at 2.0m head

Thanks,

Steve

Those rates are correct. The outlet hose is 6mm/9mm so PVC isn't a likely solution. You can buy 10m lengths of hose but the reliability of the system is hampered by such lengths of hose. It can be an issue when you refill the reservoir because the pump cannot purge an air bubble through so much resistance. It will likely work but it will be finicky and you will have to be careful to get the pump primed before leaving it unattended.

After thinking about it a bit more, it would be pretty simple for me in this particular situation to set up a sloped 1" PVC pipe that would rely on gravity to deliver water from above the reservior down to the sump. The Osmolator meter pump then would just need to move the water 4' up from the reservoir to input end of the PVC pipe.

I'll probably try that and if it doesn't work get your 3150.11 switched socket outlet and use a bigger pump. Does the 10 minute timeout safety shutoff still work if you use the 3150.11?
