Osmolator w/Calcium Dispencer

Hi Roger,

I have an Osmolator with Calcium Dispencer and wish to ask your opinion.

Can I add an excess amount of lime to the bottle and allow the flow of top off water to maintain saturation over time? Or do I have to add only the amount of lime necessary to reach saturation within the bottle and renew it as that volume is used up? Specifically, I have been adding three table spoons twice per week and allowing the flow of top off over time to maintain saturation.

Also, How often must I empty out the undissolved lime from the bottom of the bottle?

Tough questions.

I would prefer to add less, more often, this avoids a spike in dosage and keeps a more consistent level. In my 120 I add about 4-6 teaspoons every time I refill the reservoir which holds about 6.5 gallons. I refill it about every 6-7 days.

I empty and soak the bottle in vinegar every 3 months. I think the manual advocates rinsing the bottle monthly.
