Osmolator Wiring

Roger, Set up my Osmolator yesterday and see the need for one modification. I need an on-off switch someplace in line. Prefer not to unplug the unit during maintenance and water changes since all the electrical is on the back side of the system room.

I plan on installing a toggle switch someplace inline. My thought was to put it between the controller and the pump. So the unit would stay powered but the pump wouldn't run.
The problem I see with that is the controller will be sending a signal to pump and most times will reach the 10 min time limit. I take it that would require resetting the unit (unplugging it).

So should I install it on one of the lines coming out of the transformer instead?

Thanks,
SteveU

I would just unplug the transformer from the controller if that is possible. It is probably just as easy as flipping a switch but if you use a switch I would place it in line on the transformer lines.

Thanks, I'll run a leg from the transformer over to a toggle switch at sump side where I'll be more likely to remember to turn the unit back on after a water change. ;)

What might work really easily is a rotary lamp switch. I normally hate those things but since it is low voltage the shock risk is non existant.
