osmolator working and stopping .HELP

My osmolator is the champ of my tank..resently it stop working so i order a new pump...it work for bout a couple seconds and stop...the light is on orange but the pump is not runing..

help..is it at the end of it's life or do their have life after death....

Usually this is caused by a corroded connector or wire. If the wire sat in water once the connector will be corroded and water will have wicked into the wires corroding them back as much as 2ft. I would get a new connector (European Connector from Radio Shack) and cut back 6" of the black wire and see if it is black, keep cutting until you get to shiny copper wire and resolder the ends and reconnect it with the new Euro Connector.
 
thanks for the reply. I will try it tomorrow my connector was tape up ..never the less i will give it a shot
 
I put these on my Osmo when I got em. Being a saltwater boater, I didn't trust those "European" connectors around saltwater. Definitely the "weak link" of a great auto top off device.

You can get those connectors at NAPA too, if they are the same ones you heat them and the ends shrink around the wire.

These also has heat glue in it, that melts as you heat it, to form a water tight seal. Very good for any wire connections around saltwater as saltwater will corrode any copper wire it touches. Even tinned ones don't last long around saltwater.
