It's soooo cloooooose!

Tags went on sale Aug 16th, and that's when I picked mine up. Got both doe tags. They give away leftovers starting Oct 1st I believe.

I shot the bow a little today for the first time in a while. It showed, too... lost one. :rolleye1:

Northern zone bear opens Sept 18th I think it is, and I will be up there with a few good friends tenting it out for a few days of bear camp in the Daks. We did it last year and had a blast. Its a good start to a full season of sitting in the woods.

I spend all year scouting, checking trail cams, moving stands, etc... Is anyone else getting ready yet?

I started shooting a couple weeks ago. I usually start at the beginning of July. None of my friends really hunt, so I'm kind of by myself. Have fun up in the Daks. I'd love to go bear hunting sometime.

I usually start walking around the land I hunt the beginning of september for trails, scrapes, and rubs. I'd love to get a couple cams.

I started shooting about a week ago. Better off than I thought I was going to be :) still have to get my tags though

Nirvanafan - I have a couple friends who hunt. They aren't into it like I am though. The most one of them will go is maybe 5 times a season. I try to go 5 times a week during the rut...

I actually prefer to hunt alone though. Hate it when other people ruin a hunt. Careless hunters can really ruin a good spot quick.

I bought a new bow at the beginning of summer and got pretty used to it. problem is the arrows I have are too long and I need to get some cut and check my sights again.

I woke up in a cold sweat last Sunday night with a bad case of Buck fever. So excited. Been shooting a little bit here and there. Got a nasty string burn on the forearm on my first shot a few weeks ago. That gets your form up to snuff in a hurry.

Bought my license yesterday. 2 does tags too. Spoke to the farmer on Wednesday night to be sure I can set up some stands in next week or two. Game cam will be going up too, although talking to the farmer and his son has helped a bunch.

AND saw a big ole buck on my way to work Tuesday am

.....so yeah........I'm ready........

been running the dogs. 1 sept for early goose. my big game plans look shakey. my main hunting /fishing friend moved overseas. i need to knock on doors or hunt with the masses. the boy is shooting a 3d tournement with his uncle and cousin today.

Im ready for goose and duck, thats what i wait for most. Been training our to labs for quite sometime , now we gotta see how they actually do in the field. Jus got a doe tag too, didnt get my second pick tho.

Tree stands went up yesterday. SO FRIGGIN EXCITED!!! Nice Lanes cut with leaves still on, so should open up nicely once they drop. Plenty of fresh deer poop all around. No other sign yet, but I think it's a bit early.

When do they start to drop their velvet? Saw a buck last week, still fuzzy.

Pulling out my bow tonight for the first time this season.

Mark it varies...I saw a buck 3 weeks to a month ago with velvet gone, and saw another last night with it intact still so...

I cut my lanes on my treestand yesterday. 15 yards from my stand is the start of a nice scrape. So excited!

My one year protest of the new licensing cost is over. Time to get the bow tuned in and the .25-06 rezeroed.

leaves are changing. the boy smoked me with his new mathews genesis in the back yard. can' t say enough good things about these bows. must be getting old, 62 lb recurve felt heavier than i remember.
