OT: Anyone else hate turkey?

I never really cared for turkey until we started deep frying them a few years ago. Deep fried turkey is on a whole different level compared to oven baked. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

^^I deep fried the two previous years and it is diffidently better, but still turkey...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

If you like meat in general but don't like turkey, that means you either are or live with a bad cook! Turkey rocks! And don't even get me started about boiling the carcass to make stock for homemade turkey soup.

+1 we smoke our turkey sometimes dang it's good

No matter how you cook it, it's still dry and wood tasty like!

My steak was great, will do this again next year!

Hope everyone had a great dinner, no matter what you ate!

The secret to liking turkey is not to dry it out. My wife cooks it in a bag for 3 hours and its really good; moist and tasty. Plus stuffing and mashpotato's are pretty good too.

+1 the bag makes the meat literally fall off the bone, if you think turkey is dry then you should try the bag.

One word : brine!! Try brining a turkey and it just might change your opinion....and considering we are all into salt water tanks, what could be more appropriate....

I used to deep fry our turkey but the past couple years we have taken them to Joe's barbecue. They put them in their smoker and then wrap them to be reheated in the oven thanksgiving day. They are awesome! Not sure what my wife paid for this but it's worth every penny.

Its not that I don't like turkey, I actually replaced my regular ham and ground beef for turkey meat (diet BS). I just don't like when the turkey comes as a complete bird. Same goes for chicken, I love it but if you bring a complete roasted chicken I'll puke. Something about all the weird little tendons and stuff like that is what grosses me out.
