OT Anyone have unlimited access to car fax?

Might be long shot but was wondering if anyone on here was a dealer or something and had unlimited access to carfax. I want a car looked up, and went to car fax to look it up, but it's 30.00 just to look one car up. I figured it would be 3 bucks or so, 30.00 isn't worth it to me. I'll paypal someone 5.00 if they have access and will look it up for me.

I just want to know if it's been in any accidents and the last reported mileage.

contrary to popular belief, dealers only have unlimited use of car fax, for the first month when they sign up, otherwise, they pay for every serial #, that they check. Every now and then, car fax offers unlimited use to individuals for 30 days for a flat fee. Depending on the vehicle $30 may be the best investment, you could make, to avoid a problem. But a 'clean' car fax, does NOT mean that the vehicle is accident free...it means that no accidents/repairs were REPORTED. A skilled mechanic/auto body would be the way to really check for previous repairs.

Oh I thought you could buy it buy the month and have unlimited every month. I was wanting to know for a car I already own and was just curios so it didn't make sense to me to pay 30.00. I found someone though that bought it for the month and there going to look it up for me.

You would think though that one car look up would be cheaper. If this was a car I was looking to buy then I could justify the 30.00, but I can't justify it out of curiosity.LOL I have owned it for 6 months already. I'm not having any problems or anything I just want to know.

well if you already own it, then I guess you're just looking for 'trouble' :lmao: Hope it comes out clean...but even a car WITH an accident history, if repaired properly should be alright. One clue (not 100%) for a problem car is that the owner sells the car shortly after the accident, if they kept it a few years after the accident, they were probably happy with the repair. (FWIW, my family has been in the auto business since the 1930's...I was wondering if your screen name meant you were with the Dept. Of Transportation!)

HAHA No it's for DOTS candy, my favorite. DOTS was taken so I had to use DOTZ.

If it was in an accident it wouldn't bother me. It drives out perfect so if it was damaged then it's been fixed right. I'm just curios. I'm the second owner and the person before me took very good care of it. The leather and body are in very good shape for the age (96) I didn't get to talk to her as I bought it off a guy who bought it off the bank to make money. He had the original title for it. He said she went bankrupt and lost everything.

sounds like you got a winner...hope that carfax confirms it for you ! Happy Thanksgiving

I got the car fax back. There are only a few things on the car, but no accidents. Only mileage ever reported was 7 miles when it was bought by the first owner 12 years ago. Only other thing it shows was when it was moved from Missouri to Illinois which was 6 months ago when I bought it. I thought the mileage was low, but looks like there's a good chance it's right.
