OT- Anyone into Ceramics?

I actually asked her yesterday If I could take some to where I live now and she was like...:lolspin:, you are out of your mind pal :blown:

I'm not into ceramics, but I have an electric kiln that I'm looking to get rid of! My mom used to be into ceramics, so my dad bought her a kiln. Well, long story short is that dad's dead, my mom gave the kiln to my sister, she asked me to store it at my house which I have for the past 5+ years, and sometime in the last year my sister informed me that she didn't want it, so it is still taking up space in my basement.

I can't remember what model it is off the top of my head, but it is in really nice shape even though it's old (it's probably 30 years old at this point, but my mom didn't really use it much - I'm guessing it was fired less than a dozen times).

If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll post the model, a pic, and a fair asking price...

Can you say frag plugs????:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I've been watching this thread hoping someone would have a studio or the like that would be interested in making plugs and disks. The ceramics are so much better than the cement plugs since you don't have to cure them. What's the hookup on it? Could it just be plugged in and fired up or does it need to be hard wired?

Oh man, I could make those by the hundreds no problem. Would probably take 1 min each. Let them set, dry, bisque 'em up and could even glaze if people want colors!!(but I don't know if glazes are reef safe)

If only I had my studio....:sad1:

i love my art studio Mike...it's a dream come true, because i can fling paint and sand all over the place and not care!!

okay...we need to get Mike a kiln and a studio...

haha, thanks Kat! I am patient enough to wait. I have to take it slow and do it right, just like my tanks! That's what I have to keep telling myself...lol.

so? you can be great with a brush and paint, too. If the art is in you...it will find a way out...be it through music, pottery...paint....ya know?

hahahahaha, you hit it on the button. I was a Band kid in highschool as well. Bottom Bass in Marching Band....mwahahahaha.

Oh yes! Band geeks at their best. I'm marrying one too. Actually now that I think about it, it's all I have ever dated!! haha Jess is my personal musician, Flute, Clarinet, Piccolo, Sax and Piano and she was a drum major for her highschool and was in Drum Core...DCA. BTW! Cavaliers are my favorite DCI. So don't hate!! lol

no prob. it's not unusual to be drawn to another with the same interests. I'm also a theater geek...and most of my friends (up until the reefing addiction) are all theater junkies. I stage manage 9 shows a year in Rochester and play keyboard/grand piano at our parish and just recently joined an all girl folk band....working on my harp and dulcimer. Then there's the Star Wars thing...but that's a whole other story....ask me about the Star Wars ten year anniversary party in Albany that made the news. Film at 11.

Just plugged in, though it does require a 220V plug. That said, you could probably hard-wire it too. It's a Cress B-23-H kiln. Here's a picture of it:

My guess is that with a little Google searching, you could some up with the spectifications for it too. I know NOTHING about this stuff, though I'd be more than happy to provide you with any of the information off of the front name plate. Also, as an FYI, it has a stand too as shown in the picture. All in all, on the stand its about 3' high and 18" across.
