OT: Anyone know of a good car repair place near UCF?

I need to get the water pump, valve cover gasket, and cam seal gasket (I believe?) fixed on my fiance's honda civic. The Tire Kingdom we took it to near us quoted us at $740 :eek1: Which I know is way more expensive than it should be.

So, my question is, do any of you know of any good repair shops that would be within a reasonable driving distance from the UCF area that are reputable and won't take my first born/arm & leg?

Thanks in advance guys :D

hey try midas on the corner of alafaya and 50 and ask for Todd tell him Mikey from Jand B sent you.he'll take care of you.if youre looking for a honda specialist try Omar at street dreams 407-658-5858.i use to biuld civics for drag racing and he was my mechanic.both guys recomended are very honest and wont rip you off.hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up Mike!

I actually got a much better quote at a Tires Plus right off University, and took it in there (was about $400 cheaper). So, word to the wise, stay away from getting your car repaired at Tire Kingdom on the corner of Alafaya and 50, they're insanely expensive.

stay away from expert car care. I had an axle replaced there and it snapped while I was on I95. Needless to say when I got my car towed to a mechanic in WPB, he told me that it wasnt installed properly. Plus they never refunded my money.

I once had a tire kingdom quote me at $450 for an outer tie rod on my 94 mazda mx6 because it was an expensive one. they cost $20 at autozone and $34 at the dealer. 1 nut, 20 minutes worth of work. Have never gone back to them.....

I've always had good luck at Irish Mike's near Forsyth and 50. If you have AAA, then you get 10% off labor, too.

i'd second irish mike's. i've taken my car there for all it's repairs and upgrades since it's now out of warranty :/

Definitely Irish Mike's. I cringe inside whenever I hear someone takes a car to a tire store for engine work.

Tires Plus actually did a pretty good job with the repair, but I think I'll definitely try Irish Mike's next time since it comes so highly regarded.

To bad you got it fixed already, I have a friend that just opened a mechanic shop right on Fairbanks. Now that he finally broke away from Ford im going to bring him all my work.

Not to hijak the thread but, I lve right by this Irish Mike's and need some body work done on my 2001 sentra SE. Anyone think he's not equipped to handle this sort of work?

TIA,

Luis
