Just did a transmission claim on an '05 VW beetle, 46000 miles, replaced trans for low low price of only $6678.72. I think I'll buy two of them...NOT. I haven't paid that much for most of the cars I've bought!

That cost does'nt supprise me. When the engine and transmission make up 80% of that car. Warranty claims are no differant than medical insurance claims. A complete rip off.

Automatic transmissions are never a good choice in a small car. Too much horse power to weight and durability ratio.

By no means am I defending VW. I agree they're way too exspensive to repair. A well taken care of VW will pay you back.

My 95 passat was sold with 275k miles with no major repairs, not even a clutch. Held a nice resale value as well.

the reason were considering new I'd because the used civics are pretty much the same price

We were looking at used Accord's this time of year many years ago and found the same to be true...might as well get new for the same price.

Paul Cerame Ford. Ask for Greg Riley. You can also call him in advance @ (636) 675-0960. Tell him Roy & Ange sent you. We've bought 2 vehicles from him and got awesome deals.

If you head over the the Illinois side I just bought a car from Auffenberg and had the best sales experience I've ever had buying a car. Ask for Ben Bizzle in the Nissan building. He hooked me up with a great deal on a new Nissan Altima. He doesn't just sell Nissans though he can sell anything in the Auffenberg auto mall. Let him know that Justin Maschhoff sent you and he should hook you up.

Remember above all, it is the companies giving the great deals. Every dealer out there gets kick backs from the companies based on how many they sell. If they sold a car at "Invoice", how do they pay the light bill. The only way the dealers really differ is in attitude and what they are going to give you for a trade. I would avoid Awfulburg at all costs. If they everget your number, your phone will be ringing every day forever. The ones I have talked to have been real pushy.

Suntrup Stinks. They stink and will give you next to nothing on your trade. My 99 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 had a BB Value of 16K when I tried to trade it in for a new Murano (29K). They offered me 3K for my Mistsubishi. I got them up to 10K for the trade after 2 hours of BS and then just left when the dide went to re-nagotiate... Got calls from them for the next 2 weeks. Pulled up in my new murano and showed the mannager and the sales dude the new vehicle and showed them the receipts of the transaction at auffenbergh. They were ****ed!!!

I'm a haggler, and I walk out if they don't give me what I want. I tell them, your not the only dealership, if you want to sell a car today to me, it's my way or the highway. I think ALL dealerships are the same, someone has had issue's with them at some point. It's how you handle yourself, I'm always polite, but firm and let them know " Hey you are working to sell me this car" so lets see what YOU can do, to get me to buy it.

Hondas and all the rest like them are nice, Other than the drivetrain, I find them cheaply put together though. But then again, they are cheaper to buy too. You get what you pay for. I like my doors, dash boards and gauges to all work until the car quits running.
