OT: Anyone want to adopt a maltese pup

I have a toy maltese puppy (10 mos old and weighs 4 pounds) that I'm thinking about finding a new home for. He's a sweet and wonderful puppy but I don't have time to take care of him like I know I should (I work 6 days a week) and my wife is clueless in raising a pup and has little patience for his puppy antics (raiding the trash, etc). I'd only want him to go to a good home who would have the time to play with him and care for him like I know he deserves.

A little bit about my pup. His name is Sam. He's great with kids and other animals (dogs & cats). He's not a yapper (hardly barks at all). He's trained to pee on training pads. He won't run away from you when you walk him or open your front door, and will never run away from your yard as long as you're there in the yard with him. He's eating dry dog food (Blue Buffalo).

Again, I'm only gauging interest in putting Sam up for adoption. If I can't find a great family for him than he stays with my family. If anyone's interested please pm me and let me know your housing arrangement and your experience raising dogs.

i had 7 shih tzu before we have kids.
my wife will love it.

actually we are getting a dog in july when we get back from vacation as i promised my kids but if you decided to let me adopt him my sister will take care of him for 3 weeks while i we are gone ( she had shih tzu too before ) i just dont want to put him pet hotel while we are gone. maybe i can take him with us if the airline allow us to take him on vacation .

mike, if lawrence doesnt take him, I got another maltese that needs a playmate. I can pick up tomorrow

I have been an owner of 2 maltese that spans 16 years so far. I own a two story home and will be housed inside. Already have the necessary training materials as my new maltese is only 7 months old (also a male).

I get my dogs groomed every 2 months and also do own a sharpei.

Hi, I have a 5 year old multese that is spoiled to death
and would live a second. Please pm me if he is still available.
 
My mom has a maltese and was looking for another one. Her dog is also piddle pad trained. She might be interested. I will send you a PM. Your dog would go to a very good home as she takes her dog everywhere and even has a seperate wardrobe for it. LOL.

Unfortunately it's not a surprise
My kids and wife are very aware and very excited we might take him with us on our vacation.Since my wife called me 4 times asking when are we pIcking him up but I texted Mike to check our place first to see if it's satisfactory for Sams relocation :)
 
I've been swamped with pm's so sorry for the delay in getting back with everyone who's responded to my thread. I'll be in SF this weekend and will respond to everyone next week. Just to let everyone know, a close friend of my family has shown interest in Sam. She's taken care of Sam in the past and would be our first choice if Sam is put up for adoption. We are waiting on her response. If she decides not to adopt Sam than we will continue our search. Thanks everyone.
 
Good luck with the adpotion... He looks like a sweet dog.. I did not ask because you have had so many people.. I wish your famil and little sam well
 
My friend has decided to adopt him and he's going to a very good home. Thanks for all the interest in Sam.
