and everyone said Nintendo go the way of sega....lol
I would like to revisit this at the end of 2008......will be cool to see what actually pans out on this...
I agree. Honestly, the PS3 has A LOT of potential. I believe the specs on the PS3 are better then the 360, but I am curious if Sony can work out the bugs in time. Blu Ray will help to keep the PS3 afloat while Sony works out the bugs on their gaming platform, but while they do that, the 360 will only keep coming out with better and better games. Hopefully PS3 will be able to come out with some amazing titles of their own.....not just ones on multiple platforms. Multi platform games will not be anough for Sony. They NEED some titles of their own. Remember when Final Fantasy X came out for the PS2?? No one had anything that even remotely compared to that at the time. That game alone sold tons of PS2 systems! Sony desperately needs a game like that because with XBox having Halo, Gears of War, Assasin's Creed, and others like it....XBox will not slow down to wait for Sony to catch up.
Sony, IMO, really should be pushing their free internet gaming more then they are. Nowadays, I think that is HUGE. I think the popularity of X-box Live, combined with the fact that the majority of people would still rather pay $50 a year to play on live then play for free on the PS3; is something that really hurts the PS3. Sony has to figure that out, IMO! They need to market their free internet more then they are, and they need to find a way, and quickly, to make their servers at least somewhat comparable with that of Microsoft's, or Sony may continue to fight an uphill battle for some time.
Those are just my opinions. Sony is FAR from dead though, and like I said, having Blu Ray attahced to the gaming console, is going to buy the system some extra time, but Sony needs better marketing then they have currently. Seriously, people need to be hearing about free internet gaming more then they are! The PS3's specs are WAY too good to just be pushing the Blu Ray side of things right now...as they seem to be doing in all the most recent commercials.
