OT - Bad news... My toe stopped working

So - some of you know that I had a tendon transfer on my foot a few weeks ago to fix a problem that started when I fell rollerblading 2 years ago.

All was going well until last night - something happened and either the tendon got stretched or snapped and my toe isn't working again. I didn't realize it until this afternoon about 5 when I took off my air cast and realized that I couldn't move my toe.

This is really bad news - I have to go to the surgeon's office first thing Monday morning for a complete diagnosis - but it looks like I'm going to have to do this surgery all over again.

Really upsets me because it looked like this surgery fixed the problem and was going to be my last from this accident (it was my 5th).

Just wanted to share - It's a sad night at my house tonight...

Oh well - I do have an onyx percula coming in tomorrow morning from FedEx - it's supposed to be for my mom's tank - but I might have to steal it!

Sorry to hear the bad news. Hopefully, it's not what you are fearing and things will be better for you.

Sounds like things may be bad for your poor mom too.

I know - now I have to try to convince her that my black ocellaris pair will be just as nice! I would have to give her those to keep the onyx percs...

Either way the clowns are technically mine - I paid for them so that if/when I get my breeding system set up - I can have another pair...

But I have a feeling I'm going to have to give her the ones I promised and just watch them grow from afar! It's technically only one onyx perc baby that's coming tomorrow - then I have another coming in a few months - wanted to get them from 2 different breeders...

Oh - and thanks for the well wishes... hopefully it's not as bad as I think either - but when I talked to the doctor on the phone - it didn't sound good.

Bummer on your toe!! I broke my baby toe getting out of the couch one day...got it snagged on the berber carpet we used to have.

Hopefully the surgeon can get your toe back!!

dang toes, i broke mine put in new hardwood floor, box fell out of car and onto my big toe. black and blue not even get it checked out though not much to do for broken toe just hurts, but it still moves. Hopefully you don't have to end up with another surgery, good luck monday.

Sorry about your toe kimsie. That really sucks. I hope you don't have to start all over again. Good luck on Monday. Try to stay positive and it will work out.;)

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! I'm trying to stay positive... The reason I need this surgery to get my toe moving is because I have nerve damage from the fall that restricts the ability to lift up my foot - since I can't lift my big toe at all - I trip over it and they were hoping that with this surgery and the ability to lift my toe I would gain a better lifting of my whole foot...

I really appreciate all of the kind words :)

I'm going to be SO bummed if they have to do this all over again...

Can you believe it?!

Can you believe it?!

Well - I just got back from the doc and I have to go in tomorrow and have surgery AGAIN!

I tore the tendon that they had worked on...

This time I'll be in a hard cast and will have less mobility for a longer time to ensure that the tendon heals fully.

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes and look forward to seeing LOTS of me on the board with not being able to work for a while! :)

Just bear in mind that I'm probably on pain meds - so don't take me too seriously! :) At least I have that excuse to use...

Capo trying to kill the pain, maybe even end it all.

It isnt that bad Capo there is no need for even more medication....
