OT- Beautiful blonde looking for a GOOD home

Got your attention... sorry if this is way off topic but I have found you all to be pretty good folks. I am really no good at the whole dog placing thing, but a beautiful female chow mix something wandered into our yard a while back and I just don't have the time or funds for yet another pet. We did the whole neighborhood dog found thing and no one ever claimed her, she has a great disposition and loves kids and other pets. She just needs someone that can give her some attention. She sheds a little and of course I know nothing of her background. I figure that the folks on here can respect the needs of an animal and would be a good candidate for her, I just want her to go somewhere nice and not the humane society or such where I don't know where she'll end up. If you or someone you know may be interested please get in touch with me, I would rather place her before the kids get too attached. I am not asking for any money, just a good home. We are in South Orlando near Hunters Creek. Pix below. Thanks, Tony

Toni...have you had her scanned for a microchip? Most vets offices are equipped to do that and many dogs are now microchipped. She may have wondered pretty far and this may find her home:)

Me no nemo, I just heard about the microcip thing today, Sux being that my yorkie wondered off ealier today and has not been brought back eventhough he has a collar piece with all our info. About how much does the microchip go for?? Do u think thats animal cruelty?? I am praying I find him and when I do thats the first thing I want to get him....

I would definitely suggest getting a microchip for your dog, but can be very painful especially for small dogs. How old is your yorkie? What I suggest doing is having her microchipped (hoping you get her back of course) when you have any other operation done where she would be under anesthesia. This would include (most commonly) a spay/neuter or routine dental work. It is something I have yet to do with my dogs, but wish I had when they were spayed/neutered.

InLimbo, thanks but I do believe If I get him back Im gonna want this done ASAP. Hes only 14 weeks old.

both my dogs are done and the procedure is not that bad, more like a simple injection. I was worried at first but then my old vet made me feel his hand, he had a chip placed under his skin and assured me it wasnt that bad. Im not sure of the truth but someone was telling me that there are GPS enabled chips available now to, I have no idea if they are comercial yet or not but that was the rumor I heard. Good luck I hope your pup gets returned Don Lino and I hope tony finds a good home as well.

Thanks flfirefighter13, thats the one I heard about...The GPS tracking microchip. I need to look into that right there.

My Chihuahua is chipped, I think they put a high speed chip in her though.
She was chipped at 8 weeks old. It is nothing more than an injection. Granted the needle is a little bit bigger, but dogs have a high tolerance for pain, and that shouldn't be an issue. My girl seems to be in more pain when the Vet walks into the room as opposed to when she got the chip put in.
Do it as soon as you get your dog back.
Where about did you lose your dog?

If you talk to your vet they should have the injected chips available. I know Eastwood Animal hospital in east orlando with Dr. Taubel has services like these.

I hope that helps

And to the OP - What a lovely dog, I am going to send you a pm with my parents email address. they have a young lab\mix and my mom has been pining for another pet and she and my dad go back and forth about yes get it no dont get it what about a cat yada yada.. If you could send your note to them maybe they would be willing to consider if they could give it a home.

Hexed, I wish I wouldve known about this alot sooner. I lost it right outside my patio...he mustve wandered off and someone picked him up. I am really doubting they will return him, being that his collar had all the info, they wouldve called already. Thanks for all the helpful info, but I probably wont get another dog for awhile now...

Our vet actually checked, no such luck. She appears to have just wandered away from someone that is either too far away or just simply doesn;t care I guess. Beautiful dog. Tony

Tony, I will ask around and see if I can find anyone looking for a new pal. She's beautiful!

Don, I am so sorry about your puppy. I'm hoping that he was picked up by a good and honest soul who will help him find his way home.

Medium sized, a little bit bigger than our beagle. Great disposition and great with other dogs and people, I am just not home enough to give her the attention she craves.

My folks got your email tony and they couldn't see the pictures very well for some reason so i linked the ones posted above to my mom.. still a longshot but thank you for contacting them they can try to help find someone for the puppy too!
