OT- beer\brewery?

Hey all.

Today is my friends 24th birthday.. he's married. He likes beer and hockey. I was thinking on what to get him and would like to either get him a microbrewery kit or some kind of super cool beer around here locally

I'm not a big beer drinker so.. anyone have any suggestions for this type of gift and where to go on a Saturday afternoon to procure such a thing?

Well if this guy likes hockey, well, he must be a reallly good guy!!!
So make sure you get him something really nice.
I am not a beer drinker, so I can't help with that.

lol, there is a new beer from a microbrewery in Jacksonville but I can not remember what the name of it is.

btw I agree with wingnut hockey is awesome. I was devastated when they closed down the o'bears.

If I am not mistaken, there is a brewery called booty around here some place. they produce Booty Lager and it is pretty good.

the t shirts they have for grabbin bootie and what not are funny

River City Brewing Co is the one in Jacksonville(I used to live there)

Hearts Home Brew is in north Orlando just north of 441 on the corner of All American Blvd & Edgewater Dr.

I have beer brew kits & wine brew kits from them and have brewed several of their house recipies and think they are pretty good.

Are you sure it isn't Bootie? because we found Bootie beer.

Anyway THANKS for all of your help! I did a lot of asking around and ended up going to this place downtown called Total Wine (I think this is where some of the guys were going after the swapmeet)

There were SO many microbrews and interesting things I couldn't decide. We ended up getting some beer that is made with florida orange honey to try (waiting for it to chill now) and I decided to get my friend something really nice. I went with Patron Tequila thats the anejero.. er can't spell it.. the aged version.

A little pricey but it worked out nice because we met my friend and his wife and no one else showed up so we had dinner and went out for ice cream instead of drinking lol but they will take it on their vacation to the carolinas. Their eyes really lit up at seeing it so I think I made a good choice

I was really impressed with the selection there and they have like, classes you can take for $25 per person for wine tasting and what not
