OT: Butchers

As the title states this is off topic. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good meat butchers in the Tampa area. I need to get a cut of meat that you can only get at a butcher's shop. Any help would be great.

What is a hanger steak? Is it aged meat?

its the cut of meat that hangs in between the loin and ribs great for a long marinade and a quick sear.

Yes, Land and Sea on Gunn Hwy is good.
Castellano and Pizzo in South Tampa is also good.

Thanks for the update on hanger steaks. Let us know if you find a good butcher. I may have to try some hanger steaks. I love a good steak. I normally do some fillets on my marinade and then quick sear for a few minutes when I need a great steak.

Fresh Market at Dale Mabry and Fletcher (NE corner), I used to shop Land and Sea, but now it is pretty much Fresh Market exclusively...

I agree with this statement and I live right behind the Land and Sea! They are good but the Fresh Market has WAY better steaks and selection!
