OT: Can I just say...

I failed calc 3 and diff eq at UCF. Well one I made a D .

I ended up taking it at Valencia through dual enrollment the next semester. The teacher was 200 times better, and I passed with an A. The teacher makes a load of a difference.

That's why I'm doing Columbia Southern now. All I have left is my specific classes. No attending worthless lectures and I can learn on my own. I can't see why anyone would not do this beside the cost.

I think with my experience with UCF.. you have to be willing to sit down and spend a lot of time teaching yourself- the way college is set up in general and with taking notes isn't nearly as great as being able to work example problems (math heavy engineering truly is) with the professor right there helping you as you go along.

I end up abusing office hours and sometimes still .. Hell sometimes I feel slow. There's other kids (probably not US citizens) who are getting straight As as if they have no life at all whatsoever and were born to do engineering.

I looked at the website for that school and like most other places, can't really get an engineering degree online ;p There's information technology but.. yeah.. as relaxing as it is compared to engineering i'd rather not .. a little too programming oriented for my taste.

There's a lot of stuff that just doesn't make sense in Orlando- lots of people without common sense. I've learned to roll with the punches and just try to deal with the way people work (and drive.. ehhh that's another OT thread altogether!)

Yea Columbia doesn't offer engineering. I can't honestly see how they would. I guess there is a possibility. But I'm not doing that now, now that I have several years experience in networking/servers etc.
