Why the 3000GT's? He didn't even mention liking them. Not to mention, they are way out of his price range.

Here: 3000GT's within 50 Miles of Orlando

The cheapest one is $4,500. And I seriously would not trust the cheapest mitsubishi you could find (I wouldn't even trust one that was in good shape)

Just trying to help out thats all. Sorry for trying my best to help him out finding a car, plus a 3000 GT in my mind is a cool car, but if it was me getting a new car i would obviously get a new EVO.

Well, Mitz.'s off limits then, i will look around for Hondas now... and DUGG, the insurance reates are WAY too high for a sports car, im sorry, but thatnks for lookin out for me :)

Your best is mentioning a car that's been mentioned and crossed off the list already? ;) :p

EDIT, sidenote: nobody liked the LS400 suggestion? It would last a while longer....

Actually that LS400 you posted looks like it is a real good deal. Those were some really good cars. I had a buddy that was a lexus tech at that time, and they are just a high end toyota. Very good dependable cars. I would check on part prices though. Check things like alternators and water pumps to see if they have ridiculous part prices due to being lexus. I think i still have a new wood grain dash panel and a bra to fit that model lol. They also had some really nice stereo systems in them lol.

why get a lexus ls400, when you could get a camry? Same car, just with more bells and whistles. Either way, it would be a good reliable choice. You really can't go wrong with toyota, nissan, or honda.

My mom has two lexus's and loves them both. One an SC430 and the other an RX350. Both are very good cars and have been no problems thus far, still they are new but nothing seems to be going wrong with them.

Lexus is just a high end version of Toyota as mentioned.
Acura is a high end version of Honda.
Infiniti is a high end version of a Nissan. Etc, etc.

Go with a toyota if the sports cars are out of the question, if you go with a 4 door chances are the insurance would be cheaper. Come to think of it why dont you just go out and buy a cheap scion? And do monthly payments on it or something. You have a job so that doesnt seem like a bad idea to me. Plus scions are a good looking car, so of them not all.

Not remotely a Camry, nice V-8, 0-60 in the 6's, perfect ride, 40 decibels on the highway, perfect seats. There's so much more to life then a Camry.

BTW, I have my LS 400 (so to speak lol :D) My cardomain

Well, lexus's and acuras are pretty much off limits due to the price, even OLD ones are too much for me. I cant even find a 95+ Camry for under $4000, my mom has one and it is a great car, sadly, she wont be selling it for a while.

I dont know exactly what youre looking for, but these are from the pennysaver :

`96 MAZDA 626 COLD AC, tilt, cruise. Clean inside and out. Runs great, $1,750 or best offer. 386-736-9364.

`97 MALIBU, 4door, automatic, cold AC, alloy wheels, good body, drives good, $1,650 OBO. 407-497-1975.

1994 NISSAN ALTIMA. Very Clean, runs great. Automatic, sell fast! $1,650 or best offer. 407-497-1975.

And if these cars are crappy, no one flame me because I dont know jack about cars :)

Please elaborate on how they are garbage? Last time I checked he's looking for a car under $2,000; not some luxury mobile.

Here are a few i found on autotrader that I think would be worth checking out:

1993 Honda Civic Hatchback:

1995 Civic LX Sedan:

1996 Nissan Altima:

My vote goes for calling and checking out that altima ^^

Me too. And that car got really good consumer reviews.

Yup. Its not flashy and uber-comfortable, but its in his price range, reliable, and gets good gas mileage. Wondering how something that fits his needs so well could be "garbage"

Bluecarpet, the only recommendations you've given him are way out of his price range. Instead of bashing every1 else's choices, why not bring something constructive to the thread?

Also get any of the honda's that inlimbo posted, but just dont get the altima, its not a cool car by any means.

Why are you stuck on the whole "cool car" thing? The malibu is probably the least reliable car on that list, not to mention worse on gas, but you tell him to get it why?

I just still do not get your reasoning behind this hatred for altimas? They're proven reliable cars, and not all that small. Are they just not "cool" enough for you?

Yea i dont think they are a cool car at all, have you seen the difference in the old one vs the new one, major make over. Also i thought he was looking for a cool car.
