Ot: chocolate cake

+1 on porto's bakery . worth the little extra. I haven't tried the new one in downey i only go to the one in glendale, i think its on brand if i remember correctly. love the potato balls.
 
My wife makes cakes, she graduated from le cordon bleu patisserie program she can make watever you want!
Nice... I graduated from them as well. To be honest it was way too easy!! LOL Heres the cake that i made for myreef. Double chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache / Vanilla nut coffee mousse and shaved dark chocolate sides. Also used a coffee liquer i make (tastes like chocolate...lol) to "flavor" the cake :) (sprinkled some on top of each layer) Not bad for a one handed chef :) And no the cake isnt lopsided... was the way i took the pic :(

Im glad you like it MyReef. Just lemme know when you need my specialty..BBQ!! Reeflover, Graduated in august 2006. I actually did their "accelerated" program in hollywood. I dont consider myself a baker but thats the class i scored 100% in...lmoa. They actually asked me to become a teacher there but i decided i wanted to cook in restaurants for a year than to teach. Unfortunately i had my stroke 9 months after graduation. Soo thats on hold since i have no real use of my arm/hand soo thats a hassle! Which school are you going to Pasadena or hollyweird?
