OT: First try at wake boarding/surfing pictures

I was invited out by some friends for a day on the water to shoot wake boarding and some wake surfing. I used my 70-200mm for the boarding shots and my 17-55 F/2.8 for the wake surfing since they were just a few feet in front of me. The surfing shots were a bit scary since I would lay down on the swim deck and get the camera right on top of the water to get a better perspective. Thankfully the driver would always wait for me to stand up after someone crashed since the swim deck would quickly become submerged once he would slow down Enjoy!

Thanks for the comments guys. It was a real blast to shoot this stuff but even more fun to learn. I plan to be doing quite a bit is surfing for the rest of the summer.

#2 is awesome.

The first time I saw someone wake surfing we were out fishing and thought their boat was about to sink... we motored over to help them out and realized that they had the ballast full on the back corner to create a bigger wave for the guy who was about to surf. What a trip.
