OT: Frank Herbert's 'Dune'

Lizz...i'm trying really really hard to find a series of books that i have that you might enjoy. I believe they were written by Anne McCaffrey. I know I have four books that kept me flippin' pages. If you like dragons....this was one of the best series i have ever read. (aside from Star Wars and Lord of the Rings...okay, okay...Chronicles of Narnia is right up there too.) Sci-Fi wise...I've another book, Titan...which is fascinating.

Are you talking about the Pern series? Dragonsinger, Dragon Drums and All The Wyres of Pern are 3 of them cant remember the forth. There are more related stories about Pern also.

DUNE!

By far the best sci-fi series ever written. I've read them ALL (those written by Frank Herbert and his son, Brian) several times. I will say that they are very vocabulary intensive, but well worth the time to figure things out. Definitly the coolest and most diverse universe created. I will say that the Brian Herbert books are a very different style, but are an easier read and still enjoyable. Make sure you read them in ths correct order, though, or you'll be hella confused. They span about 20,000 years of human history (or possible future, I guess)

ALL of these books are well worth the time to read.

I'm such a nerd!

Yes, Tim! THOSE. Amazing. Thank you!:reading:

Since my last post, I've finished 'Dune Messiah' and 'Children of Dune'. I picked up 'God Emperor of Dune' from the library yesterday.

Suffice to say, I've been sucked in!
