OT: Fresh Water Pandora!!!

We have some great local stores in the area to get something like this going. Aquatouch always has a great selection and I saw a new store in Tucson, Arizona Nature Aquatics.

Crazy! I don't understand how they were able to create the underwater waterfalls?

It is actually sand. Sometimes referred to as sandfalls.

It's based on a simple concept of gravity. Since sand is heavier than H2O, it will fall. There are several ways to recycle the sand and bring it up. The method I often used is air line tubing. Just make sure that the sand is light enough to be lifted by the air and that there's not too much current in the tank.

I still have my sandfall if anyone's interested. I saved it when I set up my reef, thinking some day I'll set it up again.

On that note, is there anyone here who's doing a planted fresh water? I know there's Barbara out in Buckeye.

I've got a 39 gallon acrylic tank just sitting in my garage that I have been wondering what to do with. Was thinking a display fuge but may just just a planted tank after looking at this one.
