Haha thanks. For some reason when I looked it up this site said they only won 2 times. Go figure, not many people pay attention to the red sox :)

Yeah Matsui really came through this game, but I questioned the MVP award. I was thinking Mo was gonna get it.

1903, 1912, 1915, 1916, 1918, 2004, and 2007...........Find me a Sox fan who has seen more than THE ONLY 2 that count.

As an Atlanta Braves fan I am required by law to hate the Yankee's...and I do with a passion. Everything about them (especially their radio broadcaster) is annoying.

THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yankees win!
THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yankees win!

sorry Keith, I had to.

Vince,
I may just have to take back all (or some) of those great things I was saying about you the other day.

Just want to say congrats to all the Yanks fans on their world series win. Enjoy.

I guess there is a price tag on a world series for the Yank's...The team has the biggest payroll in baseball, with $223 million in players' salaries.

But...congrats on the win, here is looking forward to 2010.

They do have the largest payroll by far.. but they also have the largest income by far. Where's the fault in a company reinvesting it's $$$ into it's product? If it weren't for them & profit sharing & luxury taxes, teams like the Royals would be out of business. Just my .02 cents worth.

BUT the Royals can't compete...so would it really hurt if they went away? There are a few other teams that if they went away, would anyone even miss them?

Don't get me wrong...I wish my team would spend that much money on some talent, but they can't (or won't). The Melt's had the second highest payroll and look where that got them. So it isn't always about money, but it sure is fun to give yankee fan a hard time about it.

They could compete, it's just MUCH more difficult.. the Rays proved that last year. But I don't see a team doing that again for a while. Also, if those teams do go away, that would just mean more $$$ for the Yankees to spend, so I'd be all for that. The Yankees were fortunate that their major injuries were early in the season, and they stayed healthy for the most part. Injuries kill teams big time in all sports.

Side note.. when's our next golf outing??

I need to redeem myself after the first showing. Hopefully we get enough next year to put some teams together.
