As I post this, I'm playing the GH3 demo on my Xbox 360, wishing like hell that it was the final version of the game so I could play more than five songs... it'll be nice to get my new wireless Les Paul (guitar) controller when the final game ships next week!


EDIT: Just got a five star perfect on Pearl Jam's "Even Flow"... very nice! :thumbsup:
 
Same here... just waiting for GH3 to release for more songs and I really want the wireless guitar.

Glad to know i'm not the only one with the GH addiction. :D
 
Which system are you going to be playing it on?

For me, it's going to be the Xbox 360 version... for unlocking the wacky achievements alone. I remember Guitar Hero 2 having some funny achievements to unlock...
 
I am getting my daughter a Wii for her birthday, but her favorite game on the PS2 is the GH. I recall seeing that GH would available on the Wii, does anyone have more info on the version, when it'll be out or anything about the Wii variant?
 
Hey Cr33p, what songs are on the demo, I downloaded it last night, but I went to bed right before it finished. I say you on line last night. I would have sent you a invite, but I figured you would be busy with the GH3 demo ;)

I was playing Guitar Hero 2 last night, just to get back in the swing of it all. I love that game!
 
GH3 will be out for the Wii. They will have the wireless guitars for it and everything. I have a Wii and a 360. I am buying GH3 for the 360, but everything I have read has told me GH3 will be available for the Wii on 10/28/07, when it's released for all the other platforms.
 
maybe oen of you can help me out here. My kids have the GH2 for Playstation. I think the disc is scratched, since they can get to a certain point in the game, and then they can't access the next songs on 'the tour'. Ya know how you click on the songs and you can hear them, when you are choosing which one to attemp as you are on the "Live tour"? They are on level 3 or 4, and when they highlight a song to choose, the songs are silent, and when you click on them to start them, it goes blank. What can I do?

LMAO... yeah, I was busy playing the GH3 demo last night... my wife, my brother (badazztealcobra), and I were playing it once again. I've gotten so good at playing the Pearl Jam song (Even Flow), I was accused of playing it too much... people can be so jealous sometimes. :lol:

There are five songs on the demo that I have... I got it last week in the mail, it came with the new issue of OXM magazine.

I would suggest that you try getting the disc exchanged by either the place you bought it from, or directly through the company (Activision) that made the game. As a last resort, you might want to try one of those disc repair products on your disc... those are supposed to take care of scratches on your discs.

Same here. Xbox360. And yeah, the achievements are awesome. I've spent the past month going back and trying to 5 star all of the songs on Hard, just so I can unlock another guitar. :smokin:
 
Well then send me a friend list invite already... this makes two people (that I know of) from the RC forums who play Xbox 360 games.

(FYI: My Xbox Live name is my forum name.)

I'm hoping that this number will increase, once others realize how much fun Xbox Live truly is... trust me, I also play games on the PlayStation Network, and it's like comparing apples and oranges on the overall quality of the online "experience".

Hey Cr33p, beyond Even Flow, what songs are on the demo? I plan on playing it when I get home today. Get my hair cut or play GH3....hmmmmm, tough call, the hair can wait anotehr day or five ;)
 
I know the demo has hit me with your best shot by pat benetar (sp?) Metal by Tenacious D, rock you like a hurricane (scorpions I think)... There's one other song on there that Ive never heard of that was pretty damn hard... Im thinking my brother will be able to name that last song...
 
i love guitar hero but did you guys here about "Rockband"? youll be able to do drums, guitar, bass, and somehow even sing
 
rockband is done by half of the gh2 company. i think its done by red octane. they split from that name and made their own

Harmonix/Red Octane made GH1/2. After GH2, EA bought Harmonix and Activation bought Red Octane. As I understand it, Harmonix owns the GH engine and Red Octane owns the GH name.

Enter GH3... It is written by Neversoft and uses the Tony Hawk engine. GH2 fans may be a bit disappointed because it does respond a little differently than GH2 does.

Rock Band is written by Harmonix and I don't know what engine it uses. I would speculate that it will look/feel like GH2, seeing as it's written by the same company.

From what I hear, GH3 is better for solo play, Rock Band is better when you have friends over. Seeing as I don't have any friends, i'll get GH3 first and Rock Band later. :D
 
I think I'll do that too.. GH3 first, then rock band... I wonder if there's a PS3 version and if it comes out soon...

Don't mean to change the GH3 subject a little but GH Rock the 80's was horrible. I know it's an encore but they could have added more to it. I'm getting GH3 but I have PS2 and won't be able to play it untill Christmas. Going to be a present so I'll prob. be the one that can't sleep Christmas Eve.
 
I was told yesterday by a GameStop employee that they will be selling copies of GH3 Saturday night at midnight (technically Sunday)... they had copies of the game at the store yesterday, but they wouldn't give me my preorder early. I tried bribing them, but they were too afraid of losing their jobs.

And that's correct... there are 5 songs on the demo.

Pearl Jam - "Even Flow"
Pat Benatar - "Hit me with your best shot"
Tenacious D - "The Metal"
Scorpions - "Rock you like a hurricane"
Priestess - "Lay Down"
