OT - Guitar Hero 3

Finally started on hard yesterday. The only thing I'm dissapointed about is that there is no real "Free Bird" type of song to unlock in this game...at least so far. Dragonforce and Metallica are good, but I kept waiting for the epic song to get unlocked. So far, I haven't found it.

On a brighter note, deuling and playing co-op on XBOX Live is awesome!
 
I think the co-op mode is pretty fun even when you're playing alongside someone on the same console... last night, we were taking turns playing guitar & bass during the co-op career mode.

All in all, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite games... and it hasn't even been out for a week yet! :lol:

I unlocked one of the secret achievements in this game last night... I think they put it in there for humor purposes, as it wasn't worth any points to my gamer score once it was unlocked.
 
What did you unlock? I just got the 5 star on every song on easy and the guitar for that. Close to the 5 start on all the songs on Medium, but I want to start focusing on Hard now.

I unlocked the "tail between the legs" achievement... and it was worth a mighty zero points. :smokin:

I'll give you a hint by saying that it was almost like unlocking the "rock snob" achievement in Guitar Hero 2, where you would get it unlocked by refusing to perform an encore.

Just like your current GH3 career "situation", I think I only have 4 or 5 songs left on the medium tour to get five star ratings on... then I will concentrate on the hard tour.

For those gamers out there who are playing this game on Xbox 360, there are already downloadable "song packs" (containing three songs for each pack) on the XBL Marketplace... there's a Foo Fighters song pack, and a Velvet Revolver song pack... you can download them before you purchase them, also... I downloaded the previews of these song packs... I just can't play them, as there is something wrong with my GH3 disc.
 
Just picked it up the other day... I have more fun playing this at home than Halo3... I get tired of some 8 year old kicking my a$$ on almost every map.
 
IMHO, Halo 3 was one of the more overrated games that's been released in the past few years... I think I played my copy of the game twice before I traded it in... wound up getting $40 in store credit for it.

I just hope that I can get my copy of GH3 working, or get it replaced through Red Octane... I almost feel lost not being able to play it. :mad2:

Holy crap!!!!!!

I have to get those downloads! I'll try to have them by this weekend! Hey Cr33p, we have to play my Co-op career at Keith's. I want to unlock some of the other songs in the Co-op mode. My wife has been too busy to play GH with me lately.

Booo, I disagree. Halo 3 was awesome. Don't get me wrong, I'm playing GH3 now more then anything, but i wouldn't say Halo 3 was overhyped. It's a pretty sweet game! The HD graphics are incredible. Sure, it stinks listening to an 8 year old kick the crap out of you, but I just laugh at them more then anything else. :lol:

I remember being like 11 years old and perfecting the art of Tecmo Bowl and Super Tecmo Bowl. It's just what kids do. They play LOTS of video games.

I have it for the wii. Same playability etc. There are some boot isssues though. Sometimes it takes a few attempts to get the game to load. Emailed the company but havent heard back yet.

I did the same thing last night, once my disc wouldn't load properly after I downloaded the song pack demos off of Xbox Live.

Then I guess you missed the marketing blitz that Halo 3 recieved??? From every local 7-11 store on their Slurpee machines, to Mountain Dew commercials, to the commercials on every NFL game leading up to the game's release???

C'mon now... I know you must have seen them. ;) :lol:

Yes, I saw all of that, and I dreweled every time I saw all of it, and then I stood in line with 700 emo kids to wait for the release (which I REALLY regret doing), but hey, the game was/is awesome ;) Ya.....so I'm pretty much a gamer head loser.....and I've made peace with that :lol:

I know what you mean being a "gamer head loser", sounds like we are in the same boat... the only difference being that I didn't wait out in line for my copy of Halo 3 the day it was released... I waited to pick mine up about two days after it was being sold... just to make sure that I didn't have to stand in a line - next to any girlie-pants-wearing emo kids, who are obviously allergic to deodorant.

You'll soon see what kind of a gamer head loser I am once the poker tourney rolls around, and we actually meet face-to-face... I just hope you don't delete me from your friend list. :lol:
