OT: has anyone been to the State Theater

Thinking of taking my son to see Sesame Street this weekend there, and was wondering what is the best seat to get.

It's not that enormous a place where'd there'd be considered any "bad seats". You'd be able to see just about anywhere you'd end up being.

Irregardless of what level you decide on, my only advice would be to try to stay as much towards the center of the theater as you can.

Try Googling "Cleveland State Theater seating chart".

I've performed there several times (opera and musicals) and it is a very nice venue. The more I travel and perform, the more I realize what a nice theater complex we have in Cleveland. Is the construction done yet? (I haven't been there for a while.)

Anyways. As funkyman said, it is very difficult to get a "bad" seat. Certainly, you do not want to be in the nose bleeds if visuals are your goal, which I'm guessing that would play a large part in your son going to see Sesame Street. Therefore, I would shoot for the center orchestra seats (floor seats). I would not go all the way to the front, but in the middle of the section if you can.

Now, if you're going to see an opera... sit in the front balcony seats (you can't beat them for acoustic, unamplified sound!)

I've been in Charlotte, as my wife is working with Charlotte symphony, I just happened to be browsing and saw this post... thought I'd help. If you have any more specific questions, feel free to PM me. I've spent many hours in the state theater!
