OT: Has anyone seen Survival of the Dead?

I just watched "Survival of the Dead" a new George A. Romero movie in the line of the Night, Dawn, Day and Diary of the dead films. It was awesome! I know Mel is all about the zombie films, just wondered if there were any other zombie enthusiasts out there?

I like zombie flicks but don't get to watch much nowadays because my daughter is terrified of the very idea of a zombie. My boyfriend plays Left 4 Dead and she can't be anywhere within earshot or she won't sleep that night.

Just out of curiosity, have you read the "Walking Dead" series of comics? If not, really good read.

Haven't seen that one but I love the original Night of the Living Dead as well as the remake and Day and Dawn. Good fun movies!

Trey! I bought shoes from a guy who is your friend, yesterday!

You're going to have to let me know how you saw that movie? I've been dying to get ahold of it but too busy to check how. That's G.A.R.'s return to low budget zombie movie-making, isn't it?

Mel! Mikey told me he met you there.....crazy! I watched it at my buddies house, i think he just downloaded it somewhere, I will find out. It looked to me to be the same budget as diary, but maybe he is just better at stretching the dollar now, but it is a lot of fun!

Sandy,
I have not read any walking dead comics, but I consume anything zombie, so i would most likely love it.

It's a great series. My boyfriend bought a compilation graphic novel and it's an enormous book and new issues are still being printed.

You can read the first issue online here: http://www.imagecomics.com/iconline.php?title=walking_dead_001&page=cover

I thought "survival" wasn't out yet! I know it was released abroad just recently, but not here in the US.
Diary of the dead was great. best one i've seen in a while. suposedly, GAR is working ona sequal to "diary" starting with the survivors leaving the saferoom of mummy boy's mansion.
if any of you havent discovered these websites yet, here are a couple I like

I have one short submitted to TOWWZ. just waiting to see if they post it. my first was too graphic :(
Not only am i a zombifile, but i'm also writing a zombie novel.

I'll have to see it.

I've got mixed feelings about Zombieland. I like Woodie and the fact that zombies have gone mainstream, but the movie itself was just decent. I thought it could have been funnier AND had more action/gore. Steph and I were bored in the middle (EXCEPT for Bill Murray's scene - THAT was classic). The Jesse Eisenberg awkard romance / 'character development' thing was just dumb. Don't get me wrong, I love Zomedies and all...

I liked the nerdiness to Jesse Eisenberg's character it added a little character diversity to the movie. I can agree on the lack of comedy, but I don't think it was intended to be much more funnier. I watched the extras today on the DVD and they said they wanted a mixture of both comedy and action, but did not want to go too much one sided for either.

Well, i walked out of the theater disappointed. a little comedy interspurced with gore is great, problem is, they didn't seem to be going anywhere in particular. without some purpose i just drags along. Bill Murry was the only one who could have dug that movie out of the hole it was in from bad acting and over the top scenaros. sadly, theychose to kill him. and then just not care!?
Of the movie Bill Murry was the best part.

Epic fail Trey. See what you did here? You turned ReefCentral to ZombieCentral.

BTW, I've read Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z. :uzi:

You guys are creeping me out. Now I'm going to be afraid to be alone in a room with any of you.

That's coming from someone whose favorite movie is Babe!!
