OT: Has anyone seen Survival of the Dead?

WOW, I left town for a couple of days and missed A LOT of zombie chatter!

I cant believe you guys didn't enjoy Zombieland...come on, Woody Harrelson killing zombies - awesome, simply awesome.

Actually I only see one person who wrote that he didn't enjoy it (bshumake said he was "disappointed"). Trbike and I gave mixed reviews. A decent movie is still an enjoyable movie - I am easily amused. ;) I enjoyed it, but had higher expectations on both comedic and zombiedic fronts. I hope ZL2 is better.

I read recently that the directors originally developed the Zombieland world for TV and wrote the scripts accordingly, not fora movie, and if I recall correctly, the movie was a dragged out version of the show's pilot and the second episode. If you remove some fluff and get the movie down to 44 minutes (about 2 TV shows), it would ridiculously awesome. It would be just about the coolest TV show ever! Hopefully they make the script for the second film a bit more 'cinematic'.

Frand Darabont is making "The Walking Dead" for A&E. It'll be a TV show based on the comic book.

Looks to be amazing!

Frank Darabont.........as in the guy who directed The Shaw-shank Redemption, The Mist and the green mile?????? That sounds super sweet! (Maybe I just have a soft spot for the guy since he seems to be the only director that can do justice to Stephen King's work.)

On a side not to this has anyone read "Cell" a book recently written by King that is being made into a movie???? I am pumped about this movie! (it has zombie like creatures)

That was one of the most f'd up movies I've seen in a long time...loved it.

Nathan only enjoys movies that a) involve BMX bikes or b) involve people dying in really messed up ways. He got a big kick out of The Mist.

I know they're terrible movies (intentionally even), but I love them just for Nathan's second reason: Final Destination.

Is there a BMX gore movie? That would be Nathan's heaven!

Nathan really does like the Final Destination movies. I thought the first one was great but after that they kinda drop off. I still enjoy them though.

He really likes the Saw movies though I have a particular objection to that line of films. I hate them because I think they helped usher in this gratuitous gore that people are calling horror these days. Don't get me wrong...I'm all for mindless gore. But let's just call it GORE, not HORROR. Same with Rob Zombie movies and Hostel movies.

edit: He made me record this entirely HORRIBLE movie called BMX Bandits the other day. It was apparently Nicole Kidman's first movie. It's the worst POS but it has some interesting BMX stuff in it apparently?!?

Watched it today & enjoyed it. It's fresh to see that Romero has started to not take himself so seriously over the last few movies (Diary and Survival). These are a bit more self-consciously fun than his classic stuff. My wife thought I was nuts for reading an "us vs. them because that's how it's always been" (Israel-Palestine, India-Pakistan, etc.) type critique into the Plum Island part of the film, but I'll stand by it since his zombie films all contain some underlying line of criticism (Night confronted racism, Dawn confronted consumerism, etc.), or are at least readily interpretable in that way.

Going to watch Zombies of Mass Destruction (2009) tomorrow. While there were no WMDs in Iraq, there may be ZMDs!!! ;)

OK, so I finally saw ZMDs. Freaking hysterical. It's the most outrageous zombie movie I've ever seen with over the top comedy, gore, and political satire. Not for the faint of heart. Stephanie loved it, and she hates zombie moves. It's a must-see if you like zombie movies.

I really don't want to get banned but I just found out about this and thought I should warn everyone that the END OF THE WORLD is coming.
There is a movie...gulp...of zombie por..n. Its things like this that make you question society.

Good grief. First clowns now zombies?

Have you seen that magazine that is chicks getting cozy with corpses? It's hysterical but not really my kind of thing. Don't worry everyone...not real corpses...or is it?

I need to see ZMD........I am really pumped, not often do zombie movies slip by me......and if Nathan likes dirt bike movies like bmx films, then there is a zombie dirt bike movie I saw, it was TERRIBLE. But there is one out there. Cant think of the name right now though....
