OT: I think I am starting to figure this camera out

Tonight (ok 20 mins ago) I was trying to take pictures of the moon and couldn't do it. All came out overexposed or doubled up. Ah well. I will figure that one out later. I however started messing with my shutter speeds and came out with some great results. What do you think of this one.

Keep in mind no photoshop was used at all on this photo, Thanks for letting me share, If I could only get my tank shots to be so nice,

Nice!
There's an old rule of photography known as the sunny 16 rule. It's left over from the days when camera's didn't always come with a light meters. Or a camera battery would die but the camera itself would still operate since the only thing the battery ran was the light meter. Basically the rule is that in broad daylight an accurate exposure would be f16 with a shutter speed of 1/film speed. So if you were using iso 100 film you could base your settings on f16 and 1/100.
So... the moon, since it's lit by the sun, is exposed at f16 and 1/iso. Since your scene was completely black [night sky] the meter in your camera based its settings on the black sky, hence the moon was way over-exposed. You'd have to use manual settings to get that kind of shot.
Hope that helps,
Greg
