Ive had my eye on this nice 10 foot two people kayak at sports chalet it's made by pelican. Looks nice

Spend the money when it comes to water activities. Better that you have good equipment bc you never know that could be the difference whether you get put in a dangerous situation. Just speaking from a bad experience. I don't know if you need reels and rods. I have a brand new shimano freshwater reel and a daiwa rod if you are interested. GL with your kayak.

Pelicans look good for freshwater. If you might be tempted to hit the salt then get a sit on top.
Really it all depends on what and where you'll be fishing. Figure out your weight and approximate gear weight. Then you'll have a sense for what size. Then for dimensions you'll want to figure out what's more important. The longer it is the better it will track and faster it will go but usually less stable. The wider it is the more stable it'll be but you lose some speed.
And before you buy one, try to go to a seller preferably on the water. They'll let you demo different ones so you know what you like.
Some bodies of fresh water have special regs on body contact which will limit you to sit insides vs sit on tops. Just research all that stuff first. And Craigslist or yak fishing boards usually have high quality used gear for inexpensive prices. Good luck and tight lines!

THIS!!! Do NOT go cheap on your safety equipment (includes your vessel). You're the only irreplaceable item on your kayak. A good deal is one thing; a cheaply made & sold product is another.

Going to pick one up coming summer. Save some money and get a hobie with mirage drive. I've done a lot of fishing in my cobra and it sucks having to put the rod down and adjusting your self every few minuets; not even worth the trouble most of the time. Whats nice about a Hobie is that it has a high resale value so even in 3-4 years it would still be worth well over $1000.
