Moved On Up
this is about pumps but not for my reef, someone was telling me about Hydro powered pumps for when the power goes out, What happens is a solenoid vavle opens and water from your house begins to flow and this in turn powers the sump which removes water before your basement floods. this is obviously a great idea and got me interested. I figuered someone here could help me out cuz i know there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site within many different fields. i would love any info you have on these preferably a link, i could not find anything on them as i am searching with the wrong keyword i guess.
my other issue with it was ths guy said they pump 6 gallons for every one gallon. If this is right, how could it be, then why can't we use water returning from the display to power the pump on a closed loop. anyways i know this has to be false cuz if it wasn't we'd all have free energy.
TIA
also is anyone harnessing the power from all the water we move, or does it just not produce enough energy to make it worthwhile?
