Hey all,

Aright so here's the run-down. I currently work private security as a Public Safety Officer / Field Training Officer. I currently am in the running for becoming the K-9 Handler for Chicago with the Company. Thus, I want to start looking to a new place just in case I am selected.

Looking for something in the Suburbs as I will be working in Oakbrook as well as Downtown. The apartment/condo/house MUST allow LARGE dogs - AKA my work-dog (K-9 Unit) as well as my personal dog (1yr old Boxer) at a reasonable price....Also obviously must allow Aquariums...aka my 100gal Tank (as well as my smaller tanks).

If you happen to know any places to suggest, PLEASE let me know so I can start making a list. I know that many people currently rent and/or know friends/family that are renting.

Thanks again all, I appreciate the assistance :)

+1 on looking to buy, i picked up a place when i was 24 and it was by far a excellent choice. Have a buddy rent from you to help out on your mortgage. Just a thought, could always contact a lender and see what you could afford and go from there.

Helter - Thank you for the suggestion - will look into there as well.

Dave - its def. something I have been considering. Like I said, this isn't a 'for sure' position/promotion yet, so everything is pending that. May I ask where you were located, size of home, and monthly mortgage? (you can PM me as well). Just trying to get some ballpark numbers.

if you are looking to buy please consider how long you will be staying at the place. We almost bought a condo(signed contract) but realized just in time that we did not want to keep that beyond 3 years and that it would cost us more out of pocket to buy and sell the condo then to continue to rent.
