beach fishing the south side of Juno pier is good at sunrise & sunset for snook. Around 15 years ago before they reopened the pier until around 2005, I would fish there around 5 days a week. It was out of control! We used pretty light setups 6lb PowerPro, 15lb flouro leaders and small circle hooks baited with spanish sardines we would castnet & decent sized croakers we would catch with sibikis. The days when the surf was too rough to use the castnet bait, we would just use some plugs & catch plenty. Around 2005 the beach fishing there for snook in June, July, & August slowed down tremendously. I don't know if it was the rise in water temps, overfishing, etc (it was before those 2 really cold winters that slowed it down even further), but it's not even close to what it used to be, but it's still pretty good. I didn't fish off the actual pier too much, so I can't say anything about that, but there are plenty of monster snook on the beach. Just don't go wading out into the surf if you want to beach fish there. The best spot is literally right on the beach in much shallower water than you would think. Boynton Beach inlet is a great spot as well for snook, and pretty decent for permit
