OT: Lost dog needs home!

Hey everyone!

i found this little guy wandering around in the streets while i was working in downtown. he's a chihuahua, not sure if purebred, looks like he might have some min pin in him. he's extremely sweet and friendly, he's potty trained, gets along with dogs and cats, and loves to cuddle. he's been taken to the vet and got his shots and he's in great shape and about 1-2 years old. unfortunately, he didn't have any tags when i found him and he's not microchipped. all the hard work has been done, he just needs to be neutered and microchipped.

i need to find him a home asap, if you know anyone that wants to adopt him, or even foster him that would be a life saver, unfortunately, my dog doesn't get along with him and i'm not home enough to watch them, so i can't keep him much longer but do not want to take him to a shelter.

Have you tried, taking your dog out of the house put him in your QT, re arrange your furniture, then reintroduce both dogs at the same time?

J/k.. free bump..

There is a lost and found section on Craigslist which has helped me find an owner for a lost dog before. I don't suggest giving it to someone on craigslist if you aren't positive they are the owner. People doing experiments on animals in labs get them from craigslist.

Dude take him to the pound...then tell them if no one claims him that u will....our dog ran away 6 months ago and that is the first place people look if they want their dog back.....we finally got ours back by putting up 800 lost and found pics..and paying $500 reward..people that found him said ...we didn't know where to take him and were just going to keep him.....I was ****ed they did not take him to the pound like they are supposed to.....the people that lost him may be old and not have a computer to see found adds...do them a favor, take to pound

thanks guys! i've put an ad on craigslist. i understand about taking the dog to the pound, i'm just a little worried in case the family doesn't reclaim the dog, i don't want to leave him there and my work schedule is so sporadic i can't guarantee that i can go back after the 4 day holding period to pick him up again. i am planning on going back to the area where i found him to see if any fliers have been put up.

get your dogs microchipped! it makes all of this so much easier! :)

Our dog is microchiped...thing is ... the vet could never find it when we take him in..he would try three different readers... so we had to get another one put in...they are not full proof at all.

Glad your going back to the area to check for fliers...and considering taking him to the pound (just make sure its the pound that services the area you found him in)

Nothing is worse than loosing your dog and not knowing what happened to him.

Good to know about the microchip. Our dogs are chipped, so next time we see the vet, I'll make sure they work.
