OT Miracle on Ice redux

Wow, what a game. United States just beat Canada 6 to 5 in OT for the gold medal game of the IIHF World Junior Championship tournament.



To give a perspective, the US team was probably the 4/5th best team basically middle of the pack but the Canadian team is basically as dominant in these tournaments as much as the old Soviet Olympic teams.

This tournament is for players under 20 years of age, basically the best prospects for each nation. This is a great step for USA Hockey.

the NHL network is going to show it again tomorrow at 6pm, if you enjoy hockey in any way I really recommend the game.

I'm really glad they won the game, it was tied going into the 3rd. It'd be nice if ESPN picked this up so we could get hockey back in the mainstream.
