OT: Murfreesboro and Rutherford county folk

I dogded a close one. Just got my internet back, Power never went out. My neighbors were not so lucky, 3 of them lost houses. Lots of property damage and tree damage. I live off of bradyville pike and one of the small tornados hit about 1500 feet from my property. I went outside and saw the last 30-45 seconds of it.

yea, no one did, there was so much coverage of the one on MC parkway, that they did not say much about this one. Channel 5 did cover it though. If you come out about 5 miles on Bradyville pike you will see the damage... I will show some pics in a little while, going to my dads to make a receptacle box and frag holder :-)

Here are a few pics of the damage to my Neighbors, I took thim this afternoon. 2 of them (elderly) were taken to the hospital that is their house in the background:

These pics do not do it justice, there was about a 1/4 mile swath taken out, barns and trees and others houses with some minor damage...... Still scary being so close to my house....

I sure am glad everyone is ok. The last couple of years they have hit by my house. It really tore it up out here around 2 years ago. It was nice and calm here at the house and a mile up the road people were being killed. Scary stuff.

I saw the National Weather Service out there today. They said that they are looking at the damage and will be able to certify the tornados F scale now.

sure was a scary one, i was at church when it happened right off of thompson lane. my house is fine but several members of our church lost there homes. please keep them in your prayers
this was a close one, it was 3-4 miles from my home on two sides.

Wayne and I are fine. The tornado did not do any damage to our place. We only had rain, no hail. We did have a house full of kids that were a bit scared. The new fish tank got used. Well at least the area behind it. The kids took blankets and pillows and camped out for about 10-15 minutes. Of course I thought it was a "kodak" moment so I got the camera and took some pictures. All the kids thought I was nuts. O well!

Everyone we know are fine, but some of them had minor damage to their homes.

Has anyone heard how bad the Jungle got hit?

It's official, and EF4. I figured it would be, but the NWS has to come investigate first on anything suspected of F3 or above before an official announcement can be made. Again, I am available with truck, utility trailer, chainsaw if help is needed.

I thought it would be an EF4 as well. There was an unbelievable amount of destruction.

FWIW, less than 1% of tornadoes are EF4s. Unbelievable.

The latest stats are saying winds were in excess of 165MPH, it was 1/2 mile wide, traveled a path that was 23 miles long, and was on the ground for 36 minutes.

The one that was near Rick has been confirmed as an EF1.
